Little Tikes Cozy Coupe
The year of 2008 saw the brand sell almost half a million models of one of its most successful products; the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. Not only did the organization lead the toy and games market in terms of car sales, but if also beat out Toyota Camry by an astonishing 20,000 models (it must be noted that Toyota sell real cars in the automobile industry, while the stated is part of the toy sector!). Over ten million of their vehicles have been distributed around the world over the past three decades, suggesting that there is something truly special in the design and philosophy behind these cars.
The story originates almost 60 years ago in 1947, when a man named Jim Mariol was inspired whilst working on automobile design, when he realized he was striving for a different kind of end result. Thirty years later he joined the toy company and began constructing the kid powered cars, which were originally inspired by the mobility afforded by the wheels on office chairs! Ever since then this partnership has led to success after success, basing new models on the designs of Jim Mariol and his very first Little Tikes Cozy Coupe.
One of the main components to the success of the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe is the use of plastic as the main construction material through a process known as rotational molding. The liquid plastic is piped into a caste and allowed to cool, which results in a hard and very sturdy structure. The technique is so successful that many toy cars will be handed down from brother to sister, father to son, and in some cases even grandparents to grandchildren!
While the original design of the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe was done up in a red and yellow, since the beginning of the 1990’s the brand has brought several new versions to the market, including police car designs, fire engines, roofless models and even a feminine version called the Princess. Some parents are not content with the selection available and have taken it onto themselves to edit the original purchases through stickers, customized painting, lights and racing stripes!

Little Tikes Coupe Review
Little Tikes Coupe Grande car is just one of several renditions of his classic toy from one of the toy industry’s leading brands. The original design was manufactured over thirty years ago and was the beginning of what would lead to many variations catering for a range of demographics and markets. This particular product is recommended for children from 18 months old to five years, although I think they can be used for kids much older than that!
The design of the Little Tikes Coupe features a high seated back and even has an area for storage at the back of the car. Newer versions will have a floor which can be removed to provide additional safety for your children’s feet. If for some reason you want to actively take part in the destruction and chaos that can be caused by the Little Tikes Coupe, you can push the four wheeler around via a handle on the rear (or perhaps this was put here to assist in the restraining of aggressive driving by youngsters?). The detail on these things is quite fantastic, with the model I have having a realistic ignition socket which can be turned on and off, and even a petrol tank cover! In terms of movement the car can travel in a 360 degree range thanks to the front wheel tires which spin in a full circle motion.
Other features on the Little Tikes Coupe include completely workable sliding doors and sounding horn (you know, to warn you that you are about to be plowed into by a grinning three year old with a rapidly developing racing addiction!). Luckily, it is powered by the kid themselves and is not motorized!
The Little Tikes Coupe Grande car have a sleek, modern design and have plenty of room on the inside (although adults will find it quite a tight squeeze – trust me I speak from a rather embarrassing Birthday experience!). It is built of a flexible plastic which is excellent at withstanding any sort of weather damage and erosion, and will last for quite a number of years. If you live in the UK the going rate is around 70 pounds sterling, but these things are built so well that buying a second hand one from a reputable retailer such Amazon. Just make sure not to tell your offspring that you have bought one of these as they wont stop nagging you till the arrival of the Little Tikes Coupe!

I for one have been a regular visitor to their stores to fuel my children’s growing passion for the motorsport and racing industry!
Both my children (aged three and six) spend most of their time in the cockpit of their favourite Little Tikes Coupe, with my son preferring to blister around the garden as fast as he can push his automobile to go, while my daughter takes a more feminine approach and caters her friends and favourite toys from tea party to tea party. While many parents who have not experienced these toys before tend to be a bit apprehensive about letting their bundles of joy tear around the block in the four wheelers, the Little Tikes Coupe are very safe and sturdy, designed to take the safety of their drivers (children in most cases although there have been a few incidents over the years involving adults!) as a number one priority.
The toy car market contains a diverse selection of choices, ranging from the extremely over priced products which result in any slight bump or collision leaving you in hot flushes, more so than if it was your own real car! On the other side of the equation we see the minimal ‘platforms on wheels’ as I like to call them, which wobble around until they fall apart on their own accord around two weeks after arriving. However don’t fear, the Little Tikes Coupe combines the best of both quality and affordability in my personal opinion, as they tend to be priced between 40-100 dollars and last forever! The amount of high speed accidents, frontal collisions and acrobatic stunts I have witnessed my children perform in their Little Tikes Coupes leave me horrified, but at the same time quite baffled as to just how these toys are constructed to survive such a punishment and still look so darn good.
There is quite a large selection of toy automobiles to choose from, but I don’t think you can rally go wrong with this particular brand. They are very economical (extremely low petrol consumption and excellent purchase price!) and will last many years. In fact, I don’t think I have ever heard of one of these things falling apart before their driver outgrows them (and starts badgering their poor parents for a real set of keys!). You can buy them from a range brick and mortar shops, but if you can subdue your offspring into waiting a week or two for delivery I recommend an online course as the variety sees to be high when looking for a Little Tikes Coupe.
